We are about to arrange another Student-Staff Liaison Committee meeting this year -- for Semester 2, 2010, and we need student representatives (volunteers).
Students need to nominate their representatives (2 for first year courses, and 1 for each second, third, and fourth year courses) by August 27.
The purpose of the meeting is to PROVIDE A MECHANISM FOR STUDENT SUGGESTIONS AND PROPOSALS FOR CHANGES TO COURSE STRUCTURES, COURSE CONTENT, PREREQUISITES, TIMETABLES, ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS, PRESENTATION MODES ETC TO BE COMMUNICATED TO TEACHING STAFF FOR POSSIBLE IMPLEMENTATION
Responsibilities of the representative are: (1) to collect student suggestions and proposals (if any) for changes to course content, prerequisites, timetables, assessment requirements, presentations etc., and (2) to present them at the meeting with the liaison committee for possible implementation.
The meeting dates and times are:
1st year courses: 5pm Wed, 1 Sep 2010.
2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students: 5pm Thu, 2 Sep 2010.
The meeting will run in the Interaction Room 424 (Physics Annex) for about 1 hour, and drinks and nibbles will be served free before the meeting.
